Niigata University Health Administration Center
Welcome to the Niigata University Health Administration Center. We serve the health and wellness needs of the entire Niigata University community. Throughout our web site, you’ll find news and information to help you learn more about the many services offered at the Health Administration Center. Our main activities are as follows.
Regular medical checkups
One of the most effective ways for you to maintain your health is by getting regular checkups. All students and staff members at Niigata University are required to take annual medical checkups. The Health Administration Center also provides other special medical checkups obligated by laws and regulations. Based on the results of the checkups, we can offer you healthcare guidance.
Physical and mental healthcare support
Niigata University community members can get medical care as well as mental healthcare at the Health Administration Center. They have convenient, on campus access to two branches of the Health Administration Center, each supported by highly qualified physicians, psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, and nurses. Emotional and mental health issues can affect anyone. Taking steps to address your mental and emotional health constructively is a strong, positive, and effective way to help ensure your happiness, productivity, and well-being. If physicians determine that you need medical services that are not available at the Health Administration Center, the physicians will be able to refer you to outside clinicians.
Healthcare educational program and research
Seminars are held regularly with topics in both physical and mental healthcare. Additionally, we have also held a seminar on how to use the automatic external defibrillator (AED). All information regarding seminars and emergency notices are available on this website. Please make sure to check the schedule and other supported information regularly. Research focuses is on infectious diseases as well as mental diseases among university students. Recently, we have put additional effort into an anti-smoking campaign. In Niigata University, smoking is prohibited in all areas except for a few designated smoking areas. Please pay attention to this rule.
